Pyramid Peak Custom Cutting Board

This cutting board is named after Pyramid Peak, which stands 14,025' high and is located in the center-west area of Colorado. Pyramid Peak can be found approximately 30 minutes south of Aspen. Pyramid is known to be one of the most challenging 14ers to climb in Colorado.

Our Pyramid Peak Cutting Board is a durable piece made in Colorado to last a lifetime. It features custom engraving, a top right handhold for easy handling, and a juice groove to contain any runoff from your slicing. Perfect for any cooking task, this board will serve as a visual statement and make your food prep easier.

All Pyramid Peak cutting boards are cut from a panel of Hard Maple or American Walnut and then finished with our mineral oil and a coat of wood butter.

The engraving is completed using a method known as V-Groove engraving. The engraving is not done with the cheaper laser engraving method commonplace on Etsy, and with other brands. The benefit to V-Groove engraving is that it is much more visibly unique, and should last forever, while laser engraving can wear off over time. The downside is that it can collect debris and be difficult to clean - however, our juice groove should go a very long way to prevent this. Another downside is that V-Groove engraving can only be completed at manufacturing time, and cannot use pre-completed inventory (this is the reason for our extra lead time).

All variations of the Pyramid Peak Cutting Board are sold with 19" x 10.5" x 1.5" dimensions. As a series cutting board, your board will look similar to the photos provided here but will have grain pattern and color variations.

Normally, when wood comes into contact with water, it will absorb the water, raising the grain and causing the surface to become rough after that point. Raising the grain before hand, helps ensure that when wood comes into contact with water, it will remain smooth instead of becoming rough.
