Mt. Elbert Mini Cutting Board
The everyday fourteener
The most-used board in a kitchen is rarely the biggest one. Cut in our Colorado shop from a solid piece of hard maple or black walnut, this mini board is sized for the work that happens every day — a lime, a loaf, a quick plate of cheese — with a grip hole that keeps it hanging within reach. It takes its name from Mt. Elbert, the roof of the Rockies at 14,440 feet, the highest point in Colorado and one of the most-climbed summits in the state. Big-mountain quality, built for the daily ascent.

Built for the daily cut
Each board is milled in edge grain from a solid hardwood blank, then put through our grain-raising process: the surface is wetted to lift the wood fibers, then sanded back down, so it stays smooth through years of washing instead of roughening the first time it meets water. At just over half an inch thick, it's light enough to grab one-handed and solid enough for real knife work.

Domestic woods, made in the USA
Choose Hard Maple for a bright, blond cutting surface or American Black Walnut for deep, dark grain — both cut from domestically sourced American hardwood. Every board is made in Colorado and finished with a long soak in penetrating, food-grade cutting board oil. No paints, no stains, no film finishes — just solid wood that's safe for food from the first slice.

Earns its spot by the stove
Don't let the name fool you — at 10 by 6.5 inches, the Mini matches the standard boards most kitchens reach for daily, without claiming the whole counter or crowding the sink. Use it for the small jobs, hand it over as a cheese board when company shows up, and hang it by the grip hole between rounds. Add an engraving beside the handle and it becomes the housewarming gift that actually gets used.
