Carrying a spread to the table usually means two trips or a balancing act. The Mt. Bross Serving Tray is a 15 by 7.5 inch divided serving tray cut from a single solid piece of hard maple or American black walnut, with two chambers an inch deep and a handhold cut through each end so it carries level with both hands. Cheese and crackers in one, grapes and olives in the other, and nothing slides into anything else. Named for the Mosquito Range fourteener climbed shoulder to shoulder with Lincoln and Democrat on the DeCaLiBron loop, it's built to haul the goods the same way.
Two chambers, one piece
The whole tray, chambers and handholds included, is machined from a single solid block of hardwood. No glued-on divider to loosen, no separate rim to work free, no seams where crumbs or juice can settle. The wall between the two chambers is the same board as the floor, so the tray stays rigid when it's loaded and carried.
Two hands, one trip
A handhold is cut through each end, sized for a full grip rather than fingertips, so a loaded tray carries level from the kitchen to the couch or the patio without tipping toward whichever hand is lower. Every edge is rounded over, so nothing catches a sleeve or a knuckle on the way, and the rounded ends let it slide across a table without scraping.
From breakfast to the back porch
