Capitol Peak Cookbook Stand 2.0
Steady on the Knife Edge
Cooking from a book means fighting it the whole time — pages that won't stay flat, a spine that snaps shut the moment your hands are covered in flour. The Capitol Peak stand ends that argument in three pieces of solid Colorado hardwood: a locking foot that carries the book, dowel rods that pin the pages open, and a measurement conversion chart engraved into the face. Named for the Elk Mountains fourteener whose knife-edge ridge rewards a steady footing, it holds its ground on any counter.

Three pieces, one solid stand
The stand comes together from three pieces of solid hardwood, joined by a locking block that seats into the base and stays there. No hinge to creep, no friction joint to slip, nothing that folds flat under the weight of a heavy hardcover. Carry it from the counter to the island and it arrives in the same shape it left in.

The page stays where you put it
Dowel rods slot into the face of the stand to hold your book open, and multiple slot positions let you match whatever you're cooking from — a slim paperback or a hardcover carrying up to 350 pages per side. When you're working from a tablet or a loose printed sheet instead, the rods stow in a dedicated slot built into the stand, so they aren't rattling around in a drawer.

The chart you stop looking up
A measurement conversion chart is laser-engraved into the face of the stand — teaspoons, tablespoons, and cups at a glance, permanently there instead of buried in a browser tab you'd have to open with flour on your hands. Engraved, not printed, so it won't wear off with wiping. Cut, engraved, and oiled in our Colorado shop from hard maple or American black walnut, finished with a food-safe butcher block oil.
